About

Anjanee Kohli is a Registered Dietitian specialising in diabetes, South Asian nutrition, and paediatric dietetics. Trained at the University of  Nottingham, she works clinically at a paediatric hospital in the Midlands and serves as co-director and creative lead at The Glucose Never Lies, a nutrition evidence platform dedicated to making the science of food genuinely useful for those living with Type 1 Diabetes.

"Your heritage is not an obstacle to eating well. It is where we start."

Anjanee grew up Punjabi, surrounded by the food, family gatherings, and home cooking that shape South Asian life. Her love of food came long before her career did: baking, finding new restaurants, and learning traditional recipes from her Mum have always been at the heart of who she is.

When she decided to change careers and study dietetics in 2015, it felt less like a pivot and more like finding the right language for something she had always cared about.

Her NHS career has taken her across allergies, diabetes, weight management, enteral feeding, nutrition support, and autism. She now specialises in diabetes, working with children and families navigating one of the most complex areas of diabetes care.

The content side of her work grew from frustration. Having struggled with her own weight and faced the same wall of confusing, contradictory nutrition advice that most people encounter, she started creating content to cut through the noise.

Old wives' tales at family gatherings, questionable claims on social media, and a healthcare system that rarely accounts for South Asian food culture: she has been pushing back against all of it.

Today she leads on content and podcast production at The Glucose Never Lies, and brings that same directness to her consultancy work with food businesses, healthcare organisations, and brands.

Her belief is simple: South Asian food is not a problem to be managed. It is a rich, evidence-backed foundation for eating well, and the people who eat it deserve nutrition guidance that actually reflects their lives.
