FAQs
I've put together some questions you may have about my services. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Drop me a line using the "Contact" link and I'll be happy to answer.

What's the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
No, we don't all wear white and pose with fruit and vegetables (if you know, you know).
'Dietitian' is a protected title, this means that we're the only health professionals regulated and protected by law and registered under a professional body (in the UK this is the HCPC).
The minimum requirement to call yourself a Dietitian is a BSc Hons in Dietetics, or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Unfortunately anyone can call themselves a nutritionist regardless of training. If you see a nutritionist, make sure they're registered (in the UK they'll have ANutr after their name), who can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating.
How does consultancy work in practice?
Every project starts with a conversation. Get in touch via the Contact page with a brief outline of what you need, and I will come back to you to arrange a call. On that call we will discuss the scope, timelines, and what the work involves in practice.
From there I work on either a project basis (a defined piece of work with an agreed deliverable and fee) or a retainer basis (ongoing input across a set period). Which suits you best depends on the nature of the work, and we can talk through both options on the call.
Can you work with our existing content team, or do you work independently?
Both. I am used to working as a standalone consultant producing finished copy, and equally comfortable feeding into a wider team alongside designers, marketing leads, or clinical communications staff. If you have a house style, brand guidelines, or an existing content framework, I am happy to work within them.
Do you work with individual clients as well as organisations?
My current focus is consultancy work with organisations, but if you are an individual with a specific need that falls within my areas of
expertise, get in touch and I will let you know whether I can help or point you in the right direction.
Do you work remotely or do you need to be on-site?
Most of my consultancy and content work is done remotely and that works well for the majority of projects. Workshops and webinars can be delivered either in person or online depending on what suits your organisation and audience. If you have a preference or a specific format in mind, mention it when you get in touch and we can work around it.
What I'm looking for isn't under your services page, can you still help me?
Possibly. My listed services cover the most common ways I work with organisations, but consultancy rarely fits neatly into categories. If you have something in mind that does not obviously match what is on the page, drop me a line and we can talk through it
